CROWNS

Crowns

A dental crown is a covering to strengthen a tooth damaged by large fillings, cracks or decay. Made out of ceramic or gold, a crown aims to replicate the natural strength and contours of a perfect tooth, reducing the risk of tooth fracture.

To make a crown, your dentist will remove any decay or broken fillings, to get back to solid tooth. Then, after smoothing any sharp edges, your dentist will ensure that there is 1-2mm of space available between the top and bottom teeth, to create enough thickness for the crown.

At Smile Centre we use CEREC machines, the latest modern technology to create ceramic fillings and crowns in one appointment.
